Report benefit fraud
Benefit fraud is when people claim benefit they are not entitled to, by giving us false information or not telling us when their circumstances have changed. This is a criminal offence that can result in prosecution and any overpaid benefit being recovered.
We can only investigate a person if we have good reason to suspect they are committing benefit fraud, so if you know about someone doing this, we encourage you to report them using our anonymous service.
We treat the information we receive in the strictest confidence and you do not have to give us your personal details if you do not want to.
You can also report fraud by ringing the national benefit fraud hotline for free on 0800 854 440.
