Town centre parking and charges
**From 1 - 24 December 2023, the 1 hour free parking currently offered on town centre car parks (except Flat Iron) will be extended to 3 hours free parking (with the exception of the Flat Iron car park which will be 2 hours free parking), with a time of arrival ticket required.**
We are responsible for council owned car parks with over 1200 car park spaces near the town centre. All our car parks are situated within easy walking distance of the town centre with most of them offering free and low-cost parking.
Pay and display charges apply to all vehicles parked on the car parks during the times listed below:
Flat Iron car park (Maximum Stay 2 hours)

Please note Flat Iron car park only:
Customers must obtain a ticket from the P & D machine or pay by app (MiPermit) and abide by the 2 hour maximum stay Monday to Sunday (customers must also obtain and display a time of arrival ticket and abide by the 2 hour maximum stay during free periods - bank holidays 8am to 5pm). The 2 hour maximum stay also applies to blue badge holders at all times, however this is free of charge when displaying their blue badge and time clock.
Blue badge holders are welcome on all our car parks. In addition to designated disabled spaces, all holders of official disabled permits may park in our other car parks for up to 4 hours free in any space throughout the car park. Parking charges
A number of changes have been introduced across the town centre car parks and we continue to offer free and low-cost parking. If you are parking in Chorley town centre, please check the tariff board before obtaining a ticket. If you are taking advantage of the free parking offer, you will need to obtain a time of arrival ticket.

Portland Street Car Park

Up to 1 hour: free (must obtain a time of arrival ticket)

Motorcycles are exempt from charges on all car parks where motorcycle parking is available. We have allocated motorcycle parking available on Flat Iron, Friday Street, Cleveland Street , West Street and Fleet Street long stay car park..
We also offer the option to pay by phone app. View information on how to pay for parking online.
If you wish to park overnight and will not be able to collect your car until after 8am when the tariffs start. Please take advantage of the pay by app and book a virtual free or paid for ticket to give you some extra time. You can book 1 week in advance from the comfort of your own home.
