Exciting businesses on the menu at Chorley's covered Market

Nelibean's Coffee House at 1498

23 March 2023

Exciting new food businesses are moving into the 1498 food and beverage area in Chorley's covered market.

These latest additions mean that the new food and beverage area will be fully occupied with businesses offering a range of cuisines, sweet treats and drinks to complement the fantastic new communal seating area created last year as a result of council investment.

Curry King, offering various curry dishes, moved into the 1498 area of the market at the beginning of March, with True Flavourz, serving Caribbean food, expected to open in the coming weeks.

These businesses join Nelibean's Coffee House which moved into 1498 in January and One Sweet Day who moved in late last year, in addition to the fantastic food and drink outlets already on Chorley's popular covered market.

Deputy Leader of Chorley Council, Councillor Peter Wilson said: "We're delighted to welcome new businesses to the covered market bringing something new for visitors to enjoy. The 1498 area will be fully occupied with businesses offering a range of food and drink to suit everyone, surrounding the fabulous seating area that was created last year.

"The market retains its traditional elements and atmosphere, with this new modern area also offering a place where people can do more than shopping - grab a working lunch, meet friends for food and drinks and enjoy the atmosphere. This also meets the changes in consumer behaviour when visiting town centre. People want to do more than just shop, they want to make a day of it and enjoy leisure time."

The 1498 area of the market now offers varied cuisines to eat in or takeaway including Greek Food Souvlaki, Curry, delicious cakes, coffees, as well as drinks from The Bob Inn - the award winning family run micro bar who have been trading on the market since 2014, and much more. Elsewhere on the market Masons Market Café is also a favourite with market shoppers, as well other great food-to-go options.

Hayley Raine, from Nelibean's Coffee House said: "I couldn't be any prouder that Nelibean's Coffee House is operating from Chorley's covered market amongst some of the best independent business in Chorley.

"So much funding has gone into this part of town to create what will be a marvellous food court with a fabulous atmosphere and every unit providing something different."

Chorley's covered market is open Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday 9am - 4.30pm, with the addition of the outdoor street market every Tuesday. Further information can be found at checkoutchorley.com/markets
