Chorley town centre parking strategy

We regularly review the parking needs of our residents, visitors and businesses within the town centre, alongside any plans to redevelop areas within it.

The strategy takes on board the various demands placed on each site. This is to increase the likelihood of space availability and overall daily capacity on short stay car parks close to facilities. Also offering affordable all-day parking for workers on long stay car parks.

The car parks need to be safe and accessible to all with particular attention paid to providing wider spaces for those with mobility issues or young children. The strategy also evaluates the feasibility of incorporating new technology to improve the customer parking experience by more convenient ways of paying or offering facilities to charge electric vehicles.
